Picture-perfect photographs: Inspiration from black-and-white photography

The correct photograph in the correct place can be 100 times more effective than bullet points… no make that a million times.  Disagree? Have a look at the black and white photographs in smashing magazine here…  If you did that and you still don’t get the point I’m probably not going to get it across…

Of course not all images are as striking: one needs to differentiate between real artists, stock photographers and the rest of us… This is also the view held by Jan Schultink in his Sticky Slides post that made me aware of these images…

Whichever image you choose for your presentation, make sure that you adhere to the copyright requirements!  Either licence the photograph properly (which may cost you some bucks, but may be worth it), stick to Creative Commons images (Google and Flickr allows you to search just for those), or best of all take them yourself.  Maybe I should be taking a photography course…

    I agree completely. Whenever I start preparing for a presentation, I go to Flickr first. People pay attention when there are nice photos on the slides.
